November 2019 Update

Thank you for your interest in tccodes – Traverse City’s coding community.
October was our biggest month yet with large turnouts for both the Agile/Scrum and the Quality Focused Coding sessions. Several companies followed up with requests for additional Agile and project management workshops. We also have requests for repeats of earlier TypeScript and React/Redux sessions. The Quality panel format provided great interaction and sharing. I think we’ll repeat that format for other complex topics.

I’ve listed the sessions for the coming months below. Next week’s introductory Git session covers the basics, but look for more advanced opportunities in January with CI/CD and GitHub. The Docker and Kubernetes sessions are advanced topics and are filling quickly. Please reserve these sessions for our professional developers. I’m delighted that Derek will be providing both as “Hands-On” sessions – our first advanced BYOD sessions. Please register for all in advance – space is limited. I’ve provided links to the Eventbrite registration below.

  • Wed, Nov 20 Hands-On: Python Data and Functions Beginning http://bit.ly/tccodes191104
  • Tues, Nov. 12 Introduction to Git Intermediate http://bit.ly/tccodes191102
  • Thurs, Nov 21 Hands-On: Introduction to Docker Advanced http://bit.ly/tccodes191103
  • Thurs, Dec 12 Hands-On: Introduction to Kubernetes Advanced http://bit.ly/tccodes191201

The “NewDev” cohort is working through additional Python content and moving into RESTful API’s with Python. We’re looking forward to cutting the group loose on a team project soon. Look for them at this month’s Boomerang event sponsored by TCNewTech. See http://bit.ly/TCNTHomecoming to for more information and to RSVP.

We’re working hard to create a coding community with a focus on your professional development needs. Contact me directly if you’d like to know more about tccodes services and if you know of others that may be interested, please spread the word. Hoping to see you at this month’s training.

Best,
kek
